Coolness Captured

This is a special photo for Ondine, who, by the time she sees this, will have finished her first set of exams at Uni and will hopefully be celebrating in Paris herself! It’s a scan of the new jigsaw I received for Christmas.

Another really cool Christmas card that my partner received. Actually my favourite card this year is now one I’ve received with a photo of Kylie on the front. It may not be fine art but it sure is pleasing on the EYE.

I don’t usually like greeting cards that are photographic, but I love this one. Just captures something special. The card was from a friend of ours who has Cerebral Palsy. He can’t write his name, so he’d added a sticky label instead. From the outside there’s nothing attractive about George at all, but seeing this card has made me realise that on the inside he can appreciate beauty. Never judge a book by looking at the cover.

I was just reading an article in the The Observer newspaper based on a variety of young women here in the UK, and I was just thinking I’d really like to meet the 23 year old Entrepreneur.

How cool is it to see these so called hard faced Rappers and Hip Hop stars with their beloved kids? You can tell from these photos of 50 Cent, LL Cool J, Usher, The Game, Will Smith, P Diddy and Ne-Yo just how much these Dads adore their children. The main word that comes to mind is “protection” and that’s something I feel towards my kids too. I’d die for them.

You can imagine the situation now! Boo Armstrong was up for a special award. Courvoisier The future 500’s Award. She arrives for her photo shoot.
Camera man: Oh no no one told me she was a butch!
Make up Lady: Don’t worry leave it to me, once I’ve got the make up on and a pink jacket she’ll look fine.
Boo Armstrong: I am wearing a suit and tie aren’t I?
Wardrobe Person: Yes of course don’t worry you’ll look lovely.

Erm….never ever try to pretty up a butch it just doesn’t work. Their beauty lies in their masculinity, and doesn’t that photo of Boo in the pink jacket prove that? How much better does she look in the other 2 photos. When will society accept that some women look better butch? Why do they always see it as a negative thing? It actually makes me sad that they didn’t feel they could show a photo of Boo as she really looks, they had to make her into something acceptable to Joe Public, who in fact haven’t got a bloody clue anyway.
