I just have to show a photo of my new cap that my good buddy Ondine sent to me for my birthday. Isn’t this just the most brilliant cap ever? Please. It’s almost too good to wear!! ALMOST!

Thanks Ondine. You are a Bling Angel!

Too Proud for Primark?

Primark

You just gotta admire the discount clothing chain Primark for it’s throwaway fashion. I remember someone saying to me “Where else can you send your kids with a 20 pound note and they come back home with a whole new wardrobe?”

It doesn’t surprise me that even in a recession their sales continue to rise. They sell cool gear at prices that are so cheap, you often look at the price tag twice to see if they’ve got it right.

But you know you’ve still gotta have the swagga to carry it off!

Sinful Minds

Sinful Minds

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

The seven deadly sins, captured by the photographer Douglas Kurn. Without any props or styling, a team of actors portrayed the seven classic vices through simple facial expressions.

Can you guess them? You can answer either here or on Joey’s Pad. I’ve added the images here firstly because I think it’s amazing photography and secondly because this blog allows me to show much larger photographs.

So the seven deadly sins are: Sloth, Wrath, Greed, Envy, Lust, Pride and Gluttony. How good are the actors at portraying them ? You tell me.

Androgynous

There is nothing more appealing than the androgynous look. I was walking around a shop recently and someone who looked very much like the person in this photo, was working there. It’s not the first time I’ve seen them. Is it a slightly femininie looking boy, or a slightly masculine looking girl? I have no idea and I don’t care either. But people do don’t they? They look long and hard at a person to work out what gender they are. Why? Does it matter?

A Photo Revival

Tag: Uncategorizedllcooljoe @ 3:39 pm

I was so impressed with the photography featured on Lori’s blog that I asked her if I could add a couple of her images to my blog here. She kindly said yes.

Carry Me My Hero

Lori said “I captured this moment of my son carrying my daughter into Disneyland because her feet were tired. My heart always sings, “Awwwwww” when I view this photo. (Don’t worry, her energy came right back when we got inside the gates!)

Capture the moment. Isn’t that one of photography’s best rules?”

Check out her work on her blog, she’s a very special woman all round.

When Will I Be Famous?

Back in the 80’s teenage girls (and some teenage boys) covered their bedroom walls with pictures of Bros. They started out as a trio but it became very obvious that the only members that everyone was interested in was the blonde haired twins, Matt & Luke Goss. Matt was the singer and Luke the drummer. Their first album was massive, but what was equally important was their image. The haircut, leather and denim jackets, the ripped jeans, pierced ears, big belt buckles, chains and the doc marten shoes with bottle top lids on the laces.

All I remember is that I wanted to be like them. Real bad! To look like them, particularly Matt cos he was the singer and some think he was better looking than Luke too. I had all the gear, but none of the talent. Matt actually had a wonderful voice, and probably still does. The one thing I do have and they now don’t, is hair.

Anyway, their pop idol status didn’t last that long, but boy were they massive at the time.
